Aidan is the editor at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian, where his main role is to create the CfA’s internal organizational knowledge base. He is also the web designer for a variety of CfA committees and projects, and the acting executive assistant to the CfA Director.
Aidan was formerly the senior staff reporter on defense, US politics, climate change, health, & science at the DC bureau of The Asahi Shimbun, a leading Japanese newspaper. He has also worked as a newsletter researcher at Kaiser Family Foundation Health News (KFFHN), and as a barista at a specialty coffee shop in the DC area.
He holds an MA and MSc in international history from Columbia University and the London School of Economics, and a BA in history from the University of Chicago. He studies and writes about imperialism and foreign affairs in Europe and East Asia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, though he has also published on commercial and political relations in late-Medieval northern Europe. Last but certainly not least, he has worked as a teaching assistant for his grandfather’s Introductory Astronomy class.
